Getting to mix and master music from my hometown of Bückeburg, Germany is always a special treat, especially when I get to work with bands! LOVINGIRL (formerly Friedfool) just released their self-titled EP that serves both as an introduction to their distinctive mix of rock, blues, and funk, as well as a guide on the meaning of their name: Loving in Real Life (or Loving IRL).
The EP was entirely self-recorded and I was super pleased with the quality of the recordings they delivered. Especially their drum tracks were super tweakable and, as far as I'm concerned, can definitely hang with tracks recorded in dedicated studios.
